Sydney Jericho fumes as she drives the two hours to get her
father. Her mother had left Sydney in charge of all the money when she passed.
Good thing since her father had some stranger talking him into investing in
strange things. Only things didn’t go so well with going to Nowhere, Texas, to
grab her dad and head back to Austin.
Waite Harris saw his future disappearing as Winston’s
daughter arrived. Barracuda came to mind. He needed her to allow Winston to
invest in this ranch so Waite could build a future for his daughter, Lacy. That
little girl had changed his life and all for the better.
Winston has a bit of matchmaking in mind for Waite and
Sydney. So when an opportunity presents itself—he talks Waite into joining him
in a plan to keep Sydney there for a bit so she can fall in love with the
ranch. But unfortunately, secrets never stay buried and usually arise from the
grave at the wrong time.
I enjoyed this story and the characters.
