Metamorph Rising Series
Aviva “Viv” Sharp leaves the movie theater in the mall when suddenly two people chase her. She’s just a normal girl who’s deep in debt…but they don’t seem to be debt collectors. When she finally gets out of the mall, she meets an English chap who wants her to get in his car. Worse yet? She has some old guy’s voice in her head, and he’s trying to take over her body…well, it seems she’s in his body.
Colin Waddington has dreamed of the day he could be a Guardian to a Soul Wringer. His grandfather was a Guardian, but his father didn’t want anything to do with it…or to let Colin do it. So, he has to learn on his own how to handle this. His biggest problem was that Viv didn’t want to be a Soul Wringer. She’d been “normal” until the mall incident. He’ll take whatever time he has with her, and hopefully, he can convince her to take on the role.
As always with this author, there is a lot of humor. And Colin and Viv learn that the Guardian isn’t quite what Colin had thought. The beginning of another fantastic series.

THE WOLFWERE SERIES
Book 1: Kane
Kane was the
alpha of their pack of five wolves. Their alpha was dead, and he was the next
most powerful, although he still considered himself only second best. And then,
of all the odd things, a crazed human bit him! That bite changed everything for
Kane. An older couple took him in, as the crazed human had also injured him. He
woke up in a barn the next day…as a human. The couple helped him learn human
language and took care of them…until they died. Kane has one goal: to get back
to being a wolf. Back to his pack and to his wolf mate.
Emelda Thorne hadn’t made much of herself in her twentysome years. Lousy jobs. Lousy boyfriends. Lousy life. She was about to end it all one night when she heard the pitiful cries of a puppy being abused. That took her mind off herself and out the door to rescue the dog. Only…the next morning, there was no small dog on her couch. There was a very large, very naked man. He couldn’t drive or read, and he believed himself to be a wolf. So began her new job of being paid to drive Kane around.
Emelda has her hands full trying to keep a six-foot-seven man in line. Thankfully, she could tell people he was a French-Canadian. As they searched for the man who bit Kane, all kinds of adventures happened. A humorous story that also does have a bit of gore to it, after all, the humans who get bitten aren’t as behaved as Kane.

Kane, a wolf
bitten by a man who turned human. If the moonlight hits him…who knows what
he’ll be: a pug, a rottweiler, maybe a poodle or some other type of dog. It was
during one of those times, when he was a small dog being beaten, that he met
Sad Girl, who turned out to be Emelda Thorne. He hired Emelda to drive and read
for him because he’s not good at it.
Emelda’s life
wasn’t going so well before she met Kane, so now at least she has a good
income. The things she’s done since meeting Kane are pretty unusual, but what
else does she have in her life besides fighting monsters and keeping her boss
alive so she has a job?
In this second
book, they continue their search for Cal Davis, the man who bit Kane. It leads
them to Canada. It seems enemies are awaiting them around every corner, and the
answer to how to return Kane to his natural wolf state keeps evading them.

Kane had
trusted Doctor Hammer when she told him she could help him become a wolf again.
She’d lied. Now he’s locked to a wall without food or water. Kane figures he’s
going to die here. When his captor allows him to see what he looks like, he’s shocked.
It seems pretty hopeless for our hero.
Emelda is
unsettled about letting Kane go without a stronger fight. To top things off,
she has an unwelcome visitor in her Jeep, and she doesn’t trust him…at all, and
with good cause. Gregor has said he’d help her find Kane after she takes him to
get the go-juice he needs every seventy hours.
An amazing
story. It goes from Kane in captivity to thinking back to when he was a young
teen, only a year ago, and to what his human parents had taught him—to Emelda
and her untrustworthy traveler, to meeting some other unique characters. Definitely
a page-turner.

For reasons I won’t mention (they’d be spoiler alerts), our heroes have angered the head of one of the mafia families. Unfortunately for Kane and Emelda, they happen to be in the very town where the woman used to live in Mexico. What’s new? Trouble seems to follow these two everywhere.
Kane has something to look forward to. After he takes out the monsters, which are made from his blood, so in a way, he’s connected to them, they have a serum that should return him to a wolf, permanently. He can go back to the Canadian woods and rejoin his pack and his wolf wife.
These stories are a hoot. Yes, there is a lot of blood and carnage—monsters—but what the author created from a hearse and a funeral is hilarious!

Emelda Thorne and
Kane, her friend, a wolf who was bitten by a man and turned into a man, when
the moon came out, he turned into a different type of dog each time. They’ve
just survived a trip to Mexico, where they destroyed the rest of the Enhanced
monsters. Now they just had to get the last two: Doc Hammer and Marata. They’d
left Doc chained in the warehouse where Emelda had found Marata…only she was
gone now. So, off on a new adventure they went.
They meet up
with some former acquaintances, Connie and Edgar, and pull them into helping
them. When they come up empty in Atlanta…off to Idaho they go. And then the
final adventure, and perhaps the most dangerous.
These are
page-turning, can’t-put-down stories, to me anyway. Funny, suspenseful, and
this one brought some tears.

Book 7: Kane Resurrected
Emelda Thorne and Kane were reunited in book six. They’d been staying with her mom in California, but it’s time to move on. First, they need to find Stanley Gruber to get some answers about the man who killed Kane’s pack, his family, and how to stop him. This quest leads them to a hidden group of people…er, sorta people.
Someone has been kidnapping shifters and hunting them down like animals. Everden is a hidden community, and the last one taken was right under their noses. The inhabitants of Everden aren’t thrilled to have Emelda there. After all, she’s all human, and their secrets must be kept. On the other hand, Kane is quite popular, especially with a beautiful silver-haired wolf-shifter.
When it’s brought to the leader’s attention that Emelda has stopped monsters of all kinds, they ask her and Kane to help. Our heroes are hoping they can call off the Soul Wringer, the person who found them and is after them, but it’s said once they are told to kill, there is no stopping them.
As always: wonderful characters, great plot, and plenty of humor.
When an incident arises that they have to prioritize, they do. A rogue sector of the “shifter” communities wants to prove they are above humans. They want to make themselves known. Emelda and Kane have to stop them.
So many little things happen while they are trying to save the world. I won’t mention them as it would be a spoiler alert.
It was sad leaving Kane and Emelda after these eight books. Great stories full of action and humor.
