Whispers in the Wind Series
This book is
Biblical fiction. Its base is Elijah’s story, and sticks to what the Bible says
about him. The author incorporates fictional characters and emotions into the
book. It comes to life, bringing me to that time and place as if I were
watching it. This is not to replace the Bible. I would encourage other readers
to go back and read Elijah’s story in the Bible. His story starts in 1 Kings
chapter 17:1.
This story
starts in ancient Samaria. Elijah is called by God and sent to tell Ahab that
there will be no rain for three years. Ahab, an evil king, has built temples
for other gods. His wife, Queen Jezebel, is not an Israelite and is very evil
as well.
The main
fictional character is a young fourteen-year-old boy named Aban. His mother is
the high priestess, and he is on his way to becoming the high priest. After
Elijah confronts King Ahab, it gets Aban thinking about the Israelites’ God. As
the book follows this young lad, it shows what it was like in the false
temples, living through the famine, and much more.
I couldn’t put
Rain down once I began reading it. It’s amazing. Looking forward to reading
book two, Whirlwind, and book three, Mantel.
