Hard Justice, Outlaw Ridge
Hayes Brodie works for Owen Striker, Strike Force. A simple
job of catching and taking Petey, a no-good who attacked and robbed his
grandmother, to the Outlaw Ridge jail turns into a nightmare. And it doesn’t
look like it’s going to end anytime soon.
Jemma Salvetti, a former lawyer turned deputy, came into
work at midnight, the rookie shift, and her life changed within minutes. The
man she wants to get to know better is there with a prisoner, easy enough until
they are shot at and then find the unexpected inside the small-town station.
Someone is out to wipe out the entire crew of the Outlaw
Ridge PD, and they have almost succeeded. Only two are still alive. Hayes could
no longer avoid being close to Jemma until this nightmare ends. A fast-paced
story that has plenty of villains to keep the reader guessing which one is
guilty of mass murder.

Book 2: Outlaw Ridge: Nico
Nico Salvetti is the son of the Rattler, a former kingpin
who is now on the up and up. He’s also the brother to Jemma—her story is in
book one, Hayes. Nico looks like a bad boy following his father’s previous
footsteps but is one of the good guys undercover. He’s back in town to find a
killer who has killed before and isn’t done.
Deputy Callie Brandon came upon a crime scene and…her
former boyfriend. She hoped he wasn’t the killer, but all evidence points to
him. And even after twelve years, he can still set her heart to beating faster
and…more. She’s the good cop, though, and he’s the bad boy.
Great storyline that kept me intrigued throughout the book.
Plenty of “could-be” villains that kept me guessing, as they were all
suspicious characters. Good series.

Book 3: Outlaw Ridge: Aiden
Aiden Brodie worked for Owen Striker at Striker Force.
Still, since a crime spree four months ago that killed about every police
officer in Outlaw Ridge, he’s been working as a temporary officer. After a
woman goes missing and there’s plenty of blood to say, she’s most likely dead.
Deputy Lexa Mullen still has nightmares from the last time
she worked with Aiden. It was not his fault, just the situation they’d been in.
A failed rescue. Now, they are looking for a dead or dying woman, and it seems
someone is targeting them as well. The best way to protect themselves is to
stay together and watch each other’s backs.
Fast-paced, page-turning story with plenty of suspects. If
they can ignore the sparks igniting between them, they can stay alive and
figure out what’s going on.

Book 4: Outlaw Ridge: Declan
Book 5: Outlaw Ridge: Shaw
Book 6: Outlaw Ridge: Reed
Book 7: Outlaw Ridge: Jesse

Hard Justice, Texas Series
Sheriff Bree O’Neil and her two child friends, Rafe and Tessa, were bonded by blood. Even though Tessa had been missing for eighteen years and had changed even before that, now, Tessa’s body may have been found, and Rafe has been hired to help on the case as a consultant. She’d have to hide her feelings from long ago to close this case.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author. It was a well-written plot and kept me guessing at what had happened. I enjoyed the characters, too.
Looking forward to more in this series.

Jericho McKenna works for Maverick Ops, where he’s made quite a name for himself. The folks at Maverick Ops were all over the top at what
they did. And then, a blast from his past came knocking. After five years of no
contact, Rachel Franklin appears on his doorstep.
Rachel Franklin and Jericho grew up together in a compound,
Stronghold. Childhood friends and then on again and off again romantically for
years. She’d heard about him even though they hadn’t been in contact, and she
had no doubt he could help her.
Danger seems to be coming at them from all directions, and
nothing leads them to where it’s coming from. It was a page-turning story that
kept me guessing who the bad guys were.
Rayna Brandon didn’t like getting too close to Marco. Especially not so close they touched. She still cared for him but had to keep that tamped down. Right now, they had to work together to get a killer who had his sight set on her.
Fast-paced stories that have plenty of could-be villains to keep the reader guessing.

Nash McKenna does his best work as a protector. He works at Maverick Ops with two brothers, Jericho and Slade. A third brother is in prison—or he was supposed to be. The minute they heard he’d escaped, Nash was off to protect the woman who put Bodie in prison in the first place.
Caroline Maverick had learned a lot in eighteen years. She wouldn’t be a victim again. Ever. But as prepared as she’d thought she was, when Nash came to tell her that Brodie had escaped and was seen heading her way…that fear was back.
A great suspense story! There were several could-be villains, and it kept me guessing.

Slade McKenna works for Maverick Ops. After finishing off
an op, he got a call that had him moving as quickly as possible. Marise was in
trouble, and he’d be there for her. She was beautiful, but they kept a
friends-only relationship. They were too valuable to each other to mess it up.
Not that it was easy, not at all.
Marise Brennan was a nurse at Patriot Retreat. A place for
soldiers to heal. She had PTSD herself and was thankful for Slade because he
could always help her through an episode. But today wasn’t about her; it was
about a mutual acquaintance they’d both served with.
As always, it is a fast-paced, page-turning adventure that
keeps my attention from beginning to end.

Book 6: Lone Star Target
Jace Malley was ready for his first solo assignment with
Maverick Ops. It wasn’t what he expected. Jace was to be a bodyguard…for
someone from his past. Could he do it? Yeah. He’d protect Kit with all he had.
Katherine “Kit” Barclay had asked for Jace because she knew
he would be her best protector no matter the bad blood from their past. Someone
was trying to stop her from testifying in court. She needed to do this, no
matter what it would bring. Whoever wanted Kit out of the way—maybe even
dead—and the most suspected ones were related by blood.
As always, this series is fast-paced and has a great
storyline.

Book 7: Lone Star Secrets
Mia Sawyer had to let Angel know they had found the body. They had to decide what to do. What they didn’t expect was being shot at. What was going on, and who was after them?
Another page-turner with some surprises for the characters. They needed to get through the secrets of the past first before they could look to the future.

Owen Striker, owner of Strike Force, didn’t mind having Ruby around. He might bend the rules a bit, which is why some folks called his group Owen’s Outlaws, and Ruby was a by-the-book type of woman. Yet, his attraction to her was hard to fight. They have an old case to solve for now, and he needs to find redemption.
This author always has a long list of would-be villains that keep me guessing who the bad guys are. Always enjoyable and page-turning stories.

Kayla Morgan never saw the attack coming. She was in her workshop behind the house working and thought someone needed help… it ended up being her who needed help. Even when it seemed the threat was handled, she realized it was just beginning.
Cash and Kayla tried to avoid each other, not because of dislike but because of quite the opposite. Unfortunately, Cash reminded her of the worst time of her life, bringing on too many bad memories and panic. But now, being close is not an option while someone is out to kill her.
A short novella that’s packed full of danger and attraction, like the novels in this series.
