Robin Caroll Book List

Weaver's Needle
Landry Parker is a recovery specialist. She needs to be able to keep her doors open and the perfect, well-paying job has just come in. The Widow Winslet is a rather unusual client and has hired another specialist as well. May the best man—or in her case, woman—win.

Nickolai Baptiste really needs a quick influx of cash. As a retired cop, he's not sure if this Winslet deal crosses the line into interference of an open case. But when the challenge is thrown out...he decides to go for it.

This story takes our characters from New Orleans to Apache Junction, Arizona. To the territory of legends. And danger.

I enjoy reading books in familiar areas. Places I can “see” in my mind as I read. This takes place in the Superstition Mountains. Mountains where the curves in the road really are tight and sharp. I loved learning more about the Lost Dutchman Gold.

Bayou Series
Book 1: Bayou Justice
 A body in the bayou.
Alligator conservationist Coco LeBlanc knew real fear when she found a body in the clutches of her beloved beasts. Fear turned to horror when she saw that it was one of the Trahan clan--and he'd been shot in the back. Her ex-boyfriend, Luc Trahan, had dumped Coco two years ago when she refused to give up her family's centuries-old voodoo traditions, and he didn't know about her newfound faith. Now, as they and their families become prime suspects in the grisly crime, they'll have to work together to clear their names before the Cajun killer strikes again.
Book 2: Bayou Corruption
"Don't let them get away with it, Jacks--"
Those were the sheriff's last words. Left for dead in the middle of the road, Jackson Devereaux's good buddy had slipped into a coma. Well, Jackson wouldn't let them get away with it, once the ace newspaper reporter uncovered who they were. He'd start with the lovely Alyssa LeBlanc, the only eyewitness to the crime. Problem was, she hated Jackson--why?--as much as she hated being back in the Louisiana bayou. Unfortunately, the truth lay deep in the bayou's belly. And whether they liked it or not, Alyssa had to lead the way.
Book 3: Bayou Judgment
"Christian Crisis Hotline. How may I help you?"
For once, it was phone counselor Felicia Trahan who desperately needed to dial in. She'd come home to her apartment to find Jolie, her roommate and coworker, dead. And few clues to the killer's identity: There was a shady boyfriend. A rival at the crisis center. And disturbing phone calls from a distraught young woman who was becoming increasingly unhinged. So much so that the center's tough-guy pastor feared for Felicia's safety. Spencer Bertrand promised to protect her, even if he lost his heart in the process. Yet drawing out a killer hiding in the Louisiana bayou could be the only way to save them all.
Book 4: Bayou Paradox
It can cure you. Or it can kill you.
The untamed Louisiana bayou is not for the faint of heart. But until now, Tara LeBlanc has always considered it a sanctuary, its lush foliage a source of medicinal healing. What evil has infi ltrated her haven? Two elderly women she loves lie near death, and Tara knows their illnesses are no accident.

Only one man can save Tara from the same fate: Sheriff Rene "Bubba" Theriot. The strong-willed lawman throws his all into protecting her, laying his heart on the line as well as his life. Now they both stand to lose it all as a killer gets ready to pounce....
Book 5: Bayou Betrayal
Monique Harris has finally found her biological father! She just didn't expect to find him in prison for murder. Yet his relatives--her family--live in a lovely Louisiana town. And when her husband's suspicious death leaves the young widow with nowhere to go, she heads to the bayou. But someone wants her to leave, and threats escalate until fire is set to her home--with Monique inside. Deputy sheriff Gary Anderson assures Monique he'll keep her safe. And that they just might have a future together. Yet the bayou's murky depths hide more than just a would-be killer....
Book 6: Blackmail
And PR representative Sadie Thompson is on the case. When she's assigned to investigate the damage to her employer's oil rigs, she knows it's her chance. Finally, she can prove she's left her "bad girl" past behind her. Yet someone wants the evidence to disappear--and is willing to threaten Sadie and Caleb, her recently paroled half brother, to make it happen. Caleb's parole officer, Jon Garrison, is watching them both closely, waiting for one of them to slip up. He doesn't trust Sadie--can she trust him? She needs Jon's help, and has nowhere else to turn....
Evil Series
Book 1: Deliver Us From Evil
A beautiful yet tough woman working in a beautiful yet tough setting, Brannon Callahan is a search and rescue helicopter pilot for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Strong faith and a decorated history of service have kept her one step ahead of on-the-job dangers, but there’s no precedent for what’s about to happen. After a blizzard takes down a small plane carrying U.S. Marshal Roark Holland (already haunted by a recent tragedy), Brannon must save him in more ways than one and safeguard the donor heart he’s transporting to a government witness on the edge of death. Otherwise the largest child trafficking ring in history -- with shocking links from Thailand to Tennessee -- will slip further away into darkness along the Appalachian Trail.
Book 2: Fear No Evil
With his father in a nursing home and his mother needing support, former Great Smoky Mountains park ranger Lincoln Vailes moves to the bayou town of Eternal Springs, Louisiana, to become a police officer. Recent college graduate and eager social worker Jade Laurent has also moved there to try and right the wrongs of an abusive past. But someone is running her car off the road and pointing guns in her direction. As Lincoln investigates her case, he uncovers ties to big-city gang warfare up north that appears to be making its evil way down south.
Book 3: In The Shadow Of Evil
Eternal Springs Louisiana seems to be a quiet town. They are rebuilding from hurricanes in past years and there are those out there who are not quite honest in their practices.

A new home has just been finished for a Mom and her four children. As it sets empty two men enter but only one man leaves. The other man is dead and burning along with the home.

Detectives Maddox Bishop and Houston Wallace are assigned the murder case. Their leads take them to two sisters. Layla Taylor is the owner of Taylor Construction. Her company had built the home. Alana Taylor, her younger sister, runs Second Chances. She calls it a retreat but it is more like a drug rehab center. Some of her charges had helped on the house.

Other people are getting sick and dying with an odd illness.

Layla and Maddox both hold unforgiving hearts towards a parent.

This book is a focus on forgiveness.

As the case goes on Robin is good about having several people looking guilty and there are always other things going on. Definitely no lag in the story lines.

I enjoyed the catch phrases she gave a couple of the characters. And one of them has to overcome a fear to help in a crisis.

It has unexpected twists and turns.

A great read!
 Justice Seekers Series
Book 1: Injustice For All
A federal judge lies bleeding on his office floor, betrayed by a most unlikely source -- people who helped him bring criminals to justice. Now, why would someone working for the FBI need to disappear after witnessing this crime?

When Remington Wyatt sees her godfather's murder, she recognizes the killers and knows it's only a matter of time before they come to silence her. She must do the only thing possible to stay alive . . . run.

FBI agent Rafe Baxter is serious about his career, and solving a cold case involving a federal judge's death puts him in line for the promotion he so desires. But the case leads him to the small town of Hopewell, Louisiana, where some secrets seem inextricably hidden deep within the bayou.

Injustice for All explores what happens when everything a person believes in is utterly destroyed. Who can you trust?
Book 2: To Write A Wrong
Hayden Simpson is the police commissioner of the small town of Hopewell, Louisiana. His biggest problem had been his little sister, Emily, getting into trouble but now he has to face a gruesome murder and it’s only starting. What bad timing to meet the beautiful journalist who just happens to be staying at his mom’s house. But murder don’t step aside so love can blossom.

Riley Baxter is on the edge of losing her job and perhaps her whole journalism career. Her editor will give her one more chance to prove herself. While at Angola State Penitentiary for a hearing she meets a small family who have come to see their husband and father and been denied. What a story she sees here, how not only the prisoner is punished but their families as well. The story ends up more than she could imagine when she believes that Armand Wilson may truly be innocent. Can her stories be worth killing for?

The first book in this series is called, Injustice for All. Even though they can be stand alone books you may want to read that one first if you enjoy series and to know what happened before so you can understand the characters even better. This book has so many different angles that all come together. So many different emotions. Walking with the Wilson’s and seeing what happened in their life when Armand went to prison, Wiley’s struggle with wanting a drunk driver to stay in prison, getting inside the mind of the killer and seeing what makes him tick and so much more. Plenty of suspense and action along with surprises. And of course the romance.

Book 3: Strand of Deception

Maddie Baxter is a forensic expert. She believes strongly that, science does not lie. Even if that means finding a creepy looking, dead eyed guy innocent and allowing him to go free. It’s part of her job. She wants justice and fights hard in her lab to find it through the DNA she tests. Now she needs to find out who killed a young woman, maybe two. And who is threatening her. On top of that, the handsome FBI agent she dated only once, is thrown into her path. She has two negative strikes with relationships, does she dare go for the third?

Special Agent in Charge Nick Hagar has his work cut out for him. A woman has been killed and her father is high profileand the man is also running his mouth off to the public. Along with calling the mayor and governor enough to put all kinds of pressure on Nick and his agents. Along with the agency testing for DNA matches. Every suspect they get is making it hard to find the truth, but the truth will prevail.

Robin Caroll has the reader going from one suspect to the next in this book. They look guilty at first until you meet the next one who looks a bit guiltier. Never giving away who really murdered the two young women until the end. And it comes with a surprise to the reader, at least this reader. This is a great series that you can see the author has put a lot of time into researching and describing different areas that are brought up in the book. Like the DNA testing process. Book 1: Injustice For All, Book 2: To Write a Wrong.
